When it counted most, Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey delivered.
With the San Francisco 49ers trailing by three points with just over six minutes left, Purdy authored a 12-play, 69-yard drive which was capped by McCaffrey punching in a six-yard touchdown to help rally the Niners to a 24-21 home win over the Green Bay Packers at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California in their NFC Divisional Playoff game Saturday night.
With the victory, the 49ers return to the NFC Conference Championship game next weekend.
The 49ers owned a 7-6 lead at halftime but a pair of Jordan Love touchdown passes in the third quarter book-ended McCaffrey's first of two touchdowns in the game as the seventh-seeded Packers had the No. 1 Niners on the ropes, 21-14, entering the fourth quarter.
However, a field goal four seconds into the fourth quarter pulled the Niners to within 21-17 of the Packers.
A missed Packers' field goal with 6:21 remaining in the game gave the Niners the break they needed to put together what turned out to be the decisive drive of the game, which Purdy brilliantly authored and navigated, converting a brilliant third down on a throw to Brandon Aiyuk, before McCaffrey punched in his second TD of the game. McCaffrey finished with 17 carries for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Purdy threw for 252 yards and one touchdown.
The Packers had 1:07 to author a comeback of his own, but their hopes were dashed when Love was picked off for the second time by Dre Greenlaw to cement the game.
