The Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans are all on a bye week. But there are plenty of alluring player options to target on the fantasy football waivers this week. Let’s check them out!
Quarterbacks
Caleb Williams
With Chicago riding a six-game losing streak and 4-8, the Bears have nothing to lose over their remaining games ... except some more games. That means, Williams, the top overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, can let it fly against the San Francisco 49ers without pressure.
With the rookie QB not rostered in more than half of fantasy football leagues, Williams can be a nice option, especially if you’re thin in the pocket.
Russell Wilson
The Pittsburgh Steelers were upset by the Cleveland Browns two weeks back. Russell Wilson had a relatively quiet performance with 270 yards and a touchdown passing.
With the Steelers hosting the Browns this time, Wilson has a chance to put together a stronger outing. Snatch up the veteran and feel good about starting him.
Will Levis
The Jacksonville Jaguars’ defense have allowed the most fantasy points via the air this season. That should bode well for the Tennessee Titans’ Levis who is fresh off of throwing for 212 yards and two touchdowns last week.
Running back
Isaac Guerendo
With the San Francisco 49ers debilitated in the backfield, expect Guerendo to produce more than the four carries he had for 19 yards and a TD rushing last week.
That workload is likely to increase and his fantasy points should grow with it, making Guerendo a must-grab off the waivers for Week 14 and beyond.
Sincere McCormick
McCormick rushed 12 times for 64 yards last week, indicating that the Las Vegas Raiders might want to feature him more prominently toward the season’s end.
That could be the opportunity the second-year rusher needs to show and prove with solid performances, beginning with visiting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend.
Gus Edwards
Edwards’ six carries for 32 yards last week aren’t anything to scream over and the Los Angeles Chargers do have a tough draw this weekend against the reigning back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
But Edwards could supplement your backfield, even if he’s just stashed on your roster.
Wide receivers
Marquez Valdes-Scantling
The New Orleans Saints (4-8) are down and out but Valdes-Scantling continues to be a bright spot at wideout.
He had two receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown last week, bringing his TD total to four over a three-week span. If he’s still available in your league, snatch him off waivers and start him against the dismal New York Giants.
Brandin Cooks
Three catches on seven targets for 16 yards and a TD. Those were Cooks’ numbers last week and he could be in store for more when the Dallas Cowboys host the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football.
Adam Thielen
Thielen hauling in eight receptions for 99 yards and a touchdown marked a breakout performance for the veteran wideout this season.
And despite the Carolina Panthers visiting a tough Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Thielen should be targeted often. That means, you should target him, too.
