The 2025 Pro Bowl takes place this weekend and will again see some of the NFL’s biggest stars compete across a series of skills competitions, culminating in a flag football game.
This will be the third year in a row that this format is used for the league’s annual all-star competition, rather than the full AFC versus NFC game of years gone by.
Despite this change in format, rosters are still constructed in the same way, with the best players from each position being recognised by a combination of fans, coaches and fellow players.
Former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning will coach the AFC team, while his brother, former New York Giants QB Eli, will oversee the NFC side.

A number of players have dropped out following the announcement of the initial roster, via a combination of injury, declining to attend and being part of next week’s Super Bowl.
