Could CJ Stroud win Pro Bowl MVP as a rookie?

Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning has backed rookie CJ Stroud to win the MVP award for this week's Pro Bowl Games.

Stroud enjoyed a sensational rookie season. The Ohio State product led the Houston Texans to a playoff berth, while also breaking several records.

Stroud's highlight performance was his record-breaking win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In that game, Stroud threw five touchdowns, tying the rookie record, and threw for a record-setting 470 yards.

He is the odds-on favourite for the Rookie of The Year Award, and it was no surprise that he earned a Pro Bowl nod.

With Peyton Manning managing the AFC players, Stroud will play for the former MVP this week.

Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, Manning said, "The early MVP candidate? I'm going for CJ Stroud. CJ Stroud for the MVP."

Stroud excellently kickstarted his Pro Bowl Games campaign at Thursday's skills showcase. He top-scored with 26 points for the AFC in the precision passing challenge.
