The Eagles signed Barkley via free agency last month.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ signing of Saquon Barkley was one of the most high-profile deals of the first wave of free agency.

After last season’s campaign nosedived in the final weeks of the year, the Eagles moved quickly to bring in the veteran running back who joined from their bitter rivals the New York Giants on a three-year, $37.75million contract.

While Giants fans fumed at seeing one of their star players join a divisional foe, Barkley was not the Giant to make the same move, as wide receiver Parris Campbell made the same swap this offseason.

Campbell, therefore, has first-hand knowledge of what Barkley can bring to the Eagles and has compared the 27-year-old to the San Francisco 49ers’ NFL Offensive Player of the Year winner, Christian McCaffrey.

“I think he’s going to show people why he’s the best running back in the league,” Campbell told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“I know there’s a bunch of debate between him and Christian McCaffrey. And don’t get me wrong, Christian McCaffrey’s by far one of the best running backs in the league.

“But being able to see Saquon up close and personal, being in the same locker room, on the same team, man, he’s a different guy when he’s on that field, honestly. And running behind that offensive line that we have, I think it’s going to be pretty scary for defenses.

“You pair that with Jalen and the things he can do with his feet, just as far as extending plays, getting outside the pocket, I’m sure there will be some type of read-option game that we go on and RPO stuff that’ll happen. So just the possibilities of it are endless.”
