New Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has been talking about one of his key players.

The Philadephia Eagles will use Saquon Barkley ‘as much as we can’ after signing the running back in free agency.

Barkley ended his six-year stay with the New York Giants this offseason, signing a three-year, $37.75million deal with the Eagles, who are looking to restock following a late-season slide last year that ended with a Wild Card Round playoff defeat.

The Eagles’ new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was quick to hail his new signing in a press conference, as he laid out exactly what he will bring to the team.

“Saquon is a premier running back, first and foremost,” Moore said. “We’re really excited about his ability to run the football. Obviously behind this offensive line, he’s done a tremendous job. They have such cohesion and done a great job up front. He’s going to be a great running back.”

Moore has plenty of experience coming up against the 27-year-old from his time in Dallas, where the Cowboys would take on the Giants twice a year.

“We know the aspects that make him great,” Moore added. “It’s his ability to be a great pass protector, to be a receiver out of the backfield. He does a phenomenal job with those things. Obviously, we’ve got to try to utilize him as much as we can while understanding it’s a long season for running backs.

“We’ve got great guys behind him in Kenny [Gainwell] and Will [Shipley] and all the guys back there that we’re excited about. We’re fortunate to have Saquon.”

The Eagles will discover their 2024 schedule on Wednesday when the league releases the full fixture list, which will include a return to New York for Barkley, as the Eagles are due to visit the Giants.
