What has Saquon Barkley said?

The opening day of free agency started with a bang as former New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 27-year-old has agreed a three-year deal worth $37.75 million.

After spending six seasons with the Giants, Barkley will join one of their biggest rivals.

And the move did not go down well with Giants fans and former Giants player Tiki Barber.

Barber said on his WFAN New York radio show, "You're dead to us, Saquon. Good luck, you're dead to me."

Barkley responded by saying, "Tiki, yup, you're the prime example of loyalty to a team. I got the deal I wanted and secured more guaranteed money, which the Giants didn't give to me before…so if fans are going to hate me for that, so be it! But I never turned my back on my teammates and always had theirs.

"You have been a hater since I got to New York … and all the "Dead to me" talk, don't smile in my face when you see me."

However, Barkley's move has gone down well with Eagles fans and Pennsylvania natives. Barkley grew up in Pennsylvania and played for the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Penn State even posted an image of Barkley in the Eagles' Kelly Green uniforms.

Barkley grew up an Eagles fan. He will be Philadelphia's number-one running back. Moreover, this move adds extra spice to next season's Eagles vs. Giants games.
