The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will do battle for the Vince Lombardi Trophy on February 11.
The Chiefs are continuing to peak at the perfect time following their regular season struggles, as they followed up their win in Buffalo with an AFC Championship game triumph at the number one-seeded Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
The Niners have had to rely on comeback victories in both of their playoff games, seeing off the Green Bay Packers and then the Detroit Lions at Levi’s Stadium.
Las Vegas awaits now and with the Super Bowl being played at a neutral venue, it means a decision has to be made on which side wears their home kit and who dons their away uniform.
What uniforms will the Chiefs and 49ers be wearing?
The Kansas City Chiefs confirmed on Tuesday that they will play in their red home uniform, tweeting out a picture of the shirt they will be sporting in Vegas, complete with a Super Bowl LVIII logo on the right-hand side, above the numbers.
The Chiefs are the designated home side for the game, meaning they had first choice on what they want to wear.
That means the 49ers will sport their white away jersey.
What did the teams wear in Super Bowl LIV?
These two sides met four years ago in the big game and we’re set for an identical match-up, as the Chiefs wore red and the Niners white that time out, as Mahomes and company secured a comeback win.
However, last time the Chiefs wore red in the Super Bowl, they lost to the Buccaneers in 2021.
What does history say about home vs away uniforms?
There have been 57 previous Super Bowls and all have featured a team in white versus a team in coloured jersey.
Teams in white have the advantage, winning 37 of these games, including the Chiefs last season who wore their white kit.
