Who's performing in the Super Bowl LVII halftime show?

Rihanna

Barbadian singer Rihanna returns from a self-imposed half-decade hiatus from the music industry to headline the halftime show.

Born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, the 34-year-old shot to superstardom as a teenager. Her first album, Music of the Sun, was released in 2005 when Rihanna was 17 years old, reaching No. 10 on thhe Billboard 200. She then released seven more solo albums in the next 10 years, all of which peaked inside the top 10 of the Billboard charts — with her last two albums, Unapologetic and Anti, each reaching No. 1.

That early success saw Rihanna become one of the most prolific artists of this century, with 31 top 10 songs to her name — 14 of which topped the charts.

Additionally, Rihanna reached No. 1 three times as a featured artist (twice with Eminem and once with T.I.).

After over a decade in the spotlight, Rihanna took a step back from the music industry after her 2016 album Anti. Her first solo release since that album came in 2022 with "Lift Me Up," the lead single from the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Other artists

No special guests have been announced as of February 8, but rumours abound that the likes of Jay-Z, Drake, Calvin Harris, Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky could make an appearance alongside Rihanna.
