After winning the National Championship with Michigan on Monday night, head coach Jim Harbaugh is once again being linked with a number of head coach vacancies in the NFL.
Harbaugh has been quick to dismiss any suggestions that a return to the NFL is on the cards, but now seems like the perfect opportunity for the 60-year-old to return to the league and take over a franchise in desperate need of a revival.
Here DAZN identifies three NFL teams Harbaugh could suit as head coach if his time at Michigan does indeed come to an end.
Washington Commanders
The Commanders have all the components needed for a head coach who is eager to mastermind a rebuild.
With the second pick in this year's NFL Draft and approximately $77m in cap space, Jim Harbaugh has the chance to mould the team in his image, but with the Commanders sitting in a competative NFC East, it may take at least a season until the the franchise can look towards challenging for a playoff spot in the years to come.
Atlanta Falcons
Former Falcons head coach Arthur Smith was the first casualty on Black Monday and now there is an opportunity for someone take control of a team with an exciting offense.
With first round draft picks Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts among the offensive talents at the Falcons, this could be something which could tempt Jim Harbaugh to make the move to the Mercedes Benz Stadium. However, while the offense has the potential to bring success, there is no doubt that one of Harbaugh's first jobs if he makes the switch is to improve the defense if the Falcons want to become a legitimate contender in the NFC South.
Los Angeles Chargers
While the two previously mentioned teams are ones that require some major offseason work, the Chargers are an exception and already find themselves in contention for a postseason run before a season gets underway.
Justin Herbert is one of the NFL's most exciting quarterbacks and with Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and 2023 first round draft pick Quentin Johnston among the weapons at his disposal, there is no doubt that the Chargers offense is one that can rack up plenty of points in any game.
When it comes to the defense, there are some improvements which could still be made, but there is something to build on with Joey Boas, Khalil Mack and Derwin James the standout names.
If Harbaugh is able to find the right offensive and defensive coordinators for this talented Chargers roster, don't be surprised if the franchise makes regular postseason appearances in the years to come.
