Four-time Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook's time at the Minnesota Vikings is at an end, having been released by the NFC North franchise on June 8.

The 27-year-old has topped 1,100 yards on the ground in each of the last four seasons, and has 34 or more receptions in each as well.

The Vikings believe Cook showed signs of regression during the last campaign, and have put their faith in Alexander Mattison who will lead the Minnesota backfield in 2023.

Even if Cook is past his best, he is still an elite athlete that will almost certainly find a new home before the start of the 2023 season.

But where will he land? DAZN takes a look at three potential new homes for Dalvin Cook.

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins have spent years coming up against Tom Brady's New England Patriots and more recently Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills, but they have the players to put together a genuine challenge in 2023.

After Cook's release from the Vikings, news emerged that a trade to the Dolphins was close to being completed back in March before things fell through at the last moment and it is clear to see why the Dolphins would benefit from such an acquisition.

With Tua Tagovailoa they have a quarterback who, when fit, can get the best out of star wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but they are lacking a bell cow back.

Miami do have options at running back in Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr, as well as rookie Devon Achane, but none have ever surpassed 1,000 rushing yards in a season, and at 31-years-old Mostert started more than eight games for the first time in his career last season.

If the Dolphins are serious about a Super Bowl run this season, adding Cook would undoubtedly improve their chances.

New York Jets

After trading for Aaron Rodgers in this offseason, the New York Jets made their ambitions very clear. However at 39-years-old, the Jets have limited time to benefit from Rodgers' talent.

The Jets will be looking to throw everything at this two-year window in which they are targeting a first Super Bowl in half a century, and Cook has already spoke of his ambition to go somewhere with the potential of lifting the Vince Lombardi trophy.

Not to fall into the social media rumour mill, but Cook himself has been using his online presence to repeatedly like posts linking him to the Jets as recently as this week.

In Breece Hall, the Jets have a running back who has the potential to be one of the NFL's very best in years to come, if not in 2023, but his season-ending ACL injury during the last campaign has left some question marks over his fitness for week one.

Behind Hall, the most experienced other back is Michael Carter who has not eclipsed 639 yards and four touchdowns in a season to date.

If the Jets do win the race for his signature, Hall and Cook would immediately become one of the NFL's best running back pairings, and add more weight to New York's Super Bowl claims.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys are another potential landing spot which needs little explanation.

Dallas have already spoken in the offseason about their desire to run the ball more next season, despite now being without Ezekiel Elliot who has twice led the NFL in rushing yards in a single season.

As things stand the Cowboys have Tony Pollard top of the depth chart at running back, a back who topped 1,000 yards on the ground for the first time last season.

Pollard did that alongside Elliot - who had 876 yards himself - but now has less competition with Ronald Jones and Malik Davis providing the strongest arguement for touches.

Dallas are another team who will have eyes on a deep post-season run and have the cap space to afford Cook's services.

The Cowboys have admittedly distanced themselves from rumours linking them to Cook, and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, but despite that they remain among the market favourites to be Cook's new home.
