Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has admitted that he went too far when he clashed with head coach Andy Reid on the sideline during Super Bowl 58.
The Chiefs were taking on the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL's showpiece game which the Chiefs won 25-22 in overtime.
However, after a poor first half which saw Kelce fail to make an impact, he was caught screaming at Reid during what was a frustrating time on offense for the Chiefs.
Reflecting on the incident on the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis acknowledged that he crossed the line.
"I did. I did," Kelce said.
"I can't get that fired up where I'm bumping coach (Reid) and it's getting him off-balance and stuff. When he stumbled, I was just like, 'Oh s—t' in my head."
Kelce then expressed his admiration for Reid and how much he loves playing under the three-time Super Bowl winner.
"I'm a passionate guy," Kelce continued.
"I love Coach Reid. Coach Reid knows how much I love to play for him. How much I love to be a product of his coaching career.
"I'm not playing for anybody else but Big Red. If he calls it quits this year, I'm out there with him, man."
Luckily for Kelce, Reid confirmed that he would stay as Chiefs head coach for the 2024 with the aim of steering the team towards a third successive Vince Lombardi trophy.
