Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez could be set for a warm-up fight before his showdown with Terence Crawford later this year.
The Mexican has often fought twice a year with one contest taking place in May and the other in September.
The clash with Crawford is supposedly scheduled for September, therefore, it is still unknown as to who Alvarez will face in May on Cinco de Mayo weekend.

While nothing has been confirmed for Alvarez's May outing, his trainer Eddy Reynoso has told Box Azteca that there are a number of names in the running to face the 34-year-old unified super middleweight champion.
"Well, there are several, there is William Scull," Reynoso said.
"This is the classified one for this one, there is [Christian] Mbilli, something like that, I think he lives in Canada.
"Hey, they're the ones more or less.
"Right now there is nothing concrete yet, we also hear about Crawford for September but right now we still really don't have anything certain.
"Even I think about 15 more days."
If Alvarez and IBF super middleweight champion Scull were to meet in May, it would give the Mexican a shot at becoming a two-time undisputed champion at 168lbs.
