Adrien Broner is targeting a fight with Regis Prograis once he gets this week’s contest with Bill Hutchinson out the way.
Broner, now promoted by the legendary Don King, makes his long-awaited return to the ring on Friday where he’ll end over two years of inactivity when he fights in Miami, Florida.
The former four weight world champion still believes he has what it takes to compete at the sport’s highest level but first he must get past Hutchinson.
Prograis fights the following weekend when he takes on Danielito Zorilla in New Orleans and Broner is expected to be a keen spectator as he pursues a fight with the current WBC champion at 140lbs.
“Hell, yeah, Regis already know. If he’s still got that belt, I’m coming to take it,” said Broner when speaking to Fight Hub TV
“We’re going to make it happen. We’re going to go get Regis, but we’re going to take care of this business, and then we’re going to go get Regis for sure.
“I don’t hate on Regis. I always shout him out. I’m happy for what he’s done. He just won another world title again. I’m proud of him too, but his name is on my list. There are a lot of people, but Regis’ name is definitely on there.”
