Three high-profile name discussed the current state of women's boxing on a special edition of The DAZN Boxing Show.

Alycia Baumgardner told The DAZN Boxing Show that she was tired of being dismissed as a ‘girl’ in boxing.

Women’s fighting is gaining prominence with each event, and as part of International Women’s Day, Baumgardner was joined by Claressa Shields and Seniesa Estrada to discuss their place in the sport.

Baumgardner explained that she had lost patience with the lack of parity afforded to women’s boxing.

“I think it's a fighter, first of all. When they put emphasis on ‘girl,’ we’re women. You’re not saying ‘boys’ are getting in the ring. Let’s change that.

“We’re fighters, we’re just like the men, with two different anatomies.”

Estrada agreed, saying distinctions could no longer be drawn between the sexes.

“We can’t let that be the excuse,” she argued.

“No, times are changing. Women’s boxing is not like it was, and people need to come to the realisation that women's boxing is growing and changing, and we’re here to stay.

“We should be able to make the most amount of money in the shortest possible time.”
