The Katie Taylor-Amanda Serrano clash back in April 2022 was not only arguably the best fight in women's boxing history, it was one of the best bouts in boxing, period.
Less than three months from their highly-anticipated July 20 rematch, Serrano vows that their second meeting will be different from the first, which ended in a split-decision victory for Taylor.
"The first fight, I believe I won. It was a very close fight, a very good fight," Serrano said live on DAZN on Friday night during the Most Valuable Prospects VI card in Orlando, Florida.
"But now is my redemption. Now I go back and try to get the win.
"Not try," added Serrano, correcting herself, "I will get the win."
Serrano strongly believes that the rematch from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas will outdo their first clash, which was held inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. And that confidence led her to make another gutsy prediction for Taylor-Serrano II.
"Jake [Paul] and [Mike] Tyson, they’re the main event," she said, "but I know Katie and I are stealing the show."
Paul, speaking to DAZN earlier on the MVP VI card, wasn't exactly in disagreement.
"I don’t know if I’ll be able to warm up in the locker room or watch the [Taylor-Serrano] fight," he said. "I’m probably going to be watching the fight and not warming up."
