It was an incredible weekend for female boxing as Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano went above and beyond to deliver a truly memorable fight.
Both fighters occupied the two top spaces on the DAZN Pound for Pound rankings going into Saturday’s fight, but is that still the case now the dust has finally settled?
Although there was a case to elevate Claressa Shields into position two at the expense of Serrano, the closeness of the bout is enough to keep the Puerto Rican in second spot just behind Taylor.
With Shields set to face long-time rival, Savannah Marshall, later this year, a win for the Michigan star could see her gate-crash the top two.
One significant development from last weekend’s show was Franchon Crews-Dazurn unifying the super-middleweight titles. Her win over Elin Cederroos was very impressive and it’s enough to give the Virginia fighter a place in the top ten.
