Terence Crawford continues to be linked to a future fight with Canelo Alvarez, but Amir Khan doesn’t believe a potential battle would end well for the Nebraska man.
Khan is fully aware of what it takes to get in the ring with both men after suffering defeats to both Crawford and Canelo, and he’s backing the Mexican if the pair ever do get it on.
Crawford’s stock has risen significantly in recent months following his spectacular summer win over long-time rival, Errol Spence.
Now the undisputed ruler at 147lbs, Crawford hasn’t made his next move known, but if he was to jump to super-middleweight to tackle Canelo, Khan has made Crawford aware of how hard a leap it is.
“I don’t think anyone is beating Canelo,” said Khan when speaking to Seconds Out.
“There are rumours I’m hearing about Crawford moving up to 168 to fight Canelo. I like both guys, and I just think that Crawford should not give that much weight away.
“I’ve done it myself when I was at the peak of my career, had a great win against Devon Alexander then went and fought Canelo. You can’t do it.”
