Amir Khan reveals Terence Crawford inspiration during training camp for Kell Brook fightDAZN
Amir Khan has been able to call on the talents of Terence Crawford as he prepares to face Kell Brook.

Terence Crawford has ensured Amir Khan hasn’t cut any corners ahead of his upcoming battle with Kell Brook. The Bolton fighter has based himself in America over the last couple of months under the tutelage of Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre, the coach of Crawford, and the Nebraska man, one of boxing’s best fighters, has been a regular visitor to the gym as he monitors Khan’s progress.

Back in 2019, Khan endured six tough rounds with Crawford before he was stopped after failing to recover from a low blow. That experience with Crawford was the platform for Khan to return to America and have McIntyre in his corner, and he believes having Crawford as part of his team will be beneficial heading into his fight with Brook.

“He [Crawford] used to come down to the gym and watch me train on the mitts and stuff,” said Khan when talking with Boxing Scene. “Just having him there was such massive inspiration, because obviously, he would stop and say, ‘Amir, try this and try that.’

“He got in the ring with me a couple of times with the pads, to work me. I mean, for a pound-for-pound champ, who’s a champ himself, fighters don’t ordinarily go into the ring. I’ve trained before with guys like Andre Ward and Manny Pacquiao. They’ve never done that. But that’s what Crawford did by getting in the ring himself, because he wants me to win.”
