Amir Khan is backing Tommy Fury to emerge victorious when he faces Jake Paul later this month. The light-heavyweight prospect faces the popular YouTuber in Florida in a grudge match that has captured the imagination of mainstream fight fans.
Khan, who faces his own big rival in Kell Brook in February, has been impressed with what he’s seen from the younger Fury so far. No stranger to boxing’s most grand occasions, the former world champion at 140lbs is backing Fury to come out on top in his biggest fight.
“I think Tommy’s a great guy and a great fighter,” said Khan when speaking to Pro Boxing Fans. “I know Tyson, his brother really well but I just feel that Jake Paul is going to get hurt in this fight. I like Jake as a fighter, he’s messaged me a couple of times, but at the end of day Tommy is a future champion and he wants to fight someone like that, [Paul] can get hurt badly.”
