Andy Ruiz expects to beat Deontay Wilder if the former heavyweight champions ever meet. Ruiz, the man who inflicted the first defeat on Anthony Joshua, is currently on the comeback trail after surrendering his belts to Joshua in December 2019.
The Mexican fighter, now with Eddy Reynoso in his corner, looked satisfactory when defeating Chris Arreola earlier this year as he looks to regain a top spot in the division.
With Ruiz and Wilder both under the Premier Boxing Champions umbrella, a fight between the heavy-handed pair would likely be easy to make and it’s a contest that Ruiz expects to happen.
“I think that would be an amazing fight,” said Ruiz when speaking with Brian Custer on a potential battle with Wilder.
“We’re both part of the same team, and it’s all business. I wouldn’t mind getting in the ring with him, and I feel I could beat him. We’ve got to get it on.”
