Anthony Joshua can still continue his career amid the upper tier of heavyweight boxing, with Dillian Whyte stating he has "still got a lot left in the tank".

The Briton suffered his fourth career loss - and arguably the worst - in a fifth-round stoppage against Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in September.

Bidding to join the elite ranks of three-time heavyweight world champions, Joshua was dropped several times by his rival and appeared shellshocked in the aftermath.

But Whyte, who fought the star in 2015 and suffered his first professional defeat against him, feels his old foe still has plenty more to give and remains a major name.

Usyk vs Fury competition

"He's still got a lot left in the tank and he's still a big draw," he told Sky Sports News. "And as you can see in the fight, he's still a big puncher.

"He had Dubois going before Dubois landed the finishing blow. It's hard to say, he's young, he's strong, he looks in amazing shape. He's still got a lot of fight left in him.

"People put too much emphasis on a defeat in heavyweight boxing. That's why a lot of fights don't happen. They don't get made

"People put a lot of emphasis on win, lose and draw instead of enjoying the fact that two top guys are fighting each other now, which wasn't happening a few years ago."

Joshua had been tipped for an immediate rematch with Dubois, but will no longer be the latter's next opponent, who is rumoured to fight in February with Joseph Parker.

The former Olympic champion instead could face off with former world champion Tyson Fury next year if the latter loses his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk this December.
