The Anthony Joshua vs. Robert Helenius press conference was steeped in mutual respect earlier in the week.
But that quickly changed at Friday's weigh-in, when the fighters' staredown lasted longer than expected, prompting "AJ" to check his late-replacement opponent's temperature with a stinging warning.
"You good?" Joshua asked Helenius as neither man broke his stare.
As Helenius nodded, Joshua added: "You look like you gotta problem. You gotta problem with me?"
Helenius responded, "I don't got a problem."
As the two refused to break their eye contact, Joshua warned "The Nordic Nightmare" one final time.
"Either we're going to fight now or we're going to fight tomorrow — either way we're going to fight," he said.
"Stay calm and stay cool."
Helenius offered: "I am cool."
After the tense moment, Helenius told DAZN that "nothing important" was discussed on stage at the weigh-in, but vowed "I'm here to upset" on Saturday night.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn didn't mind the intensity on stage at all.
"It was spicy, it was good because we've got to be focused for this fight," Hearn told DAZN.
The Anthony Joshua vs. Robert Helenius fight will be live on DAZN on Saturday, beginning with the main card at 2 p.m. ET.
