Does Anthony Joshua feel any pressure to knock Robert Helenius out quickly Saturday night, knowing that Deontay Wilder already recorded a first-round KO of "The Nordic Nightmare" in October?
When asked straight up by DAZN if he'd feel disappointed not registering a stoppage against Helenius at the O2 Arena in London, Joshua responded: "No comment."
AJ added: "I'll do my job. I'll do my job. I have to do my job. It's the only thing in my mind right now. There's no extra time in boxing, so I have to do my job. That's all I'm thinking about — doing a good job."
Part of that, according to the former unified heavyweight world champion, is not paying much attention to the first-round KO that Wilder produced against Helenius. Joshua believes comparisons of common opponents don't do much to help, anyway.
"No," Joshua said following Wednesday's press conference, when asked if there's any thought of Wilder's performance against Helenius that will pop into his head. "Because we can go back to when I fought Jason Gavern — I beat him earlier than Wilder did. I beat [Eric] Molina earlier than Wilder did. Wilder beat [Dominic] Breazeale [earlier than me].
"There's always going to be comparisons, but this is my fight. This is my night. Let me just do my thing."
