Anthony Yarde looks set to receive his second world title shot when he faces Artur Beterbiev early next year.

Yarde’s previous crack at glory came in 2019 when he was stopped by Sergey Kovalev after having a couple of decent moments in the fight. Almost four years on, Yarde has an opportunity to do it all again when he takes on the menacing Beterbiev.

Since losing to Kovalev, Yarde has endured mixed fortunes. At the end of 2020, he was beaten on points by Lyndon Arthur before returning the following year to stop the Manchester man.

Now in pole position to challenge for a world title, Yarde will enjoy home advantage against Beterbiev with Frank Warren, his promoter, stating the fight will be in London.

“He’s going to fight on the same card as Zach [Parker], and then he’ll have the fight for the three titles, and that’ll be on the 28th of January next year,” said Warren when speaking to IFLTV

“He’s [Yarde] not had a fight in 12 months now, so he needs to get some ring rust out of his system. That’ll be in London.”
