Are there any fights on before New Year's Day? List of boxing cards set for this week, December 28-31Ed Mullholland/Matchroom

It's set to be a quiet week for boxing fans with few fight cards being staged across the world.

Most of the action is outside America and Britain, with a couple of major fights to be held.

In Tokyo, the focus will be on the super flyweight clash between Kazuto Ioka and Joshua Franco on New Year's Eve.

Before then there's a Czech cruiserweight title match-up between Vasil Ducar and Vladimir Reznicek on December 29 in Prague.

The day after in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Maira Moneo and Erica Farias contest the WBA lightweight title in women's boxing.

Information on the Tokyo fight comes courtesy of Dan Rafael's fantastic and comprehensive database of upcoming boxing events, which he updates regularly.
