It appears that the long-awaited welterweight showdown between Errol Spence and Terence Crawford is set to take place on June 17 in Las Vegas.
Ring Magazine have stated that the fight is due to be staged this summer according to their sources with the winner likely to be crowned the sport’s best fighter.
Both fighters have been on a collision course for several years with the pair occupying the top two spots at 147lbs.
It looked like a meeting between the Amercian rivals could take place at the end of last year, but Crawford faced David Avanesyan instead whilst Spence was said to be in talks to take on Keith Thurman.
According to The Ring, it now looks a deal has been struck and the fight could even be announced this month.
Both men are undefeated and have picked up numerous accolades during their time in the sport.
The contest is likely to do huge business and the victor will be in a prime position to set himself up for further lucrative opportunities.
