A big rematch takes place on Feb 22, live on DAZN , as Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol do battle for a second time.
Here, DAZN News looks at numerous fights from boxing’s long history where dominance was once again proved in the rematch.
Muhammad Ali vs Sonny Liston 2, 1965
One of sport’s most iconic images is Muhammad Ali standing over a stricken Sonny Liston as he registered his second win over him in the opening round.
The previous year, Ali, the fighting as Cassius Clay, caused a huge upset when he shocked Liston to become heavyweight champion.
Their rematch was eagerly anticipated, but it was a more aggressive Ali who got the job done with a shot now known as the ‘phantom punch.’

Michael Spinks vs Larry Holmes 2, 1986
A controversial result at the time as many believed Larry Holmes had done enough to level his series Michael Spinks, but a split decision win for the man from St Louis closed the door on this brilliant rivalry.
In 1985, Spinks shocked the world when he moved from light-heavyweight to be amongst boxing’s big men and defeated the seemingly unbeatable Holmes.
Both fights were close throughout, but it was Spinks who came out on top on both occasions as he proved he belonged on top of the heavyweight division.

No fighter perhaps came closer to inflicting defeat on Floyd Mayweather than Jose Luis Castillo.
Many were shocked during their first encounter when Mayweather was handed the verdict after it appeared the Mexican had been the better fighter for large portions of their meeting.
The Michigan man was better prepared for the sequel, and his routine victory has gone a long way to removing the doubt regarding the first result.
Carl Froch vs George Groves 2, 2014
One of British boxing’s most heated rivalries ended in 2014 in front of a packed Wembley Stadium crowd when George Groves was knocked out by Carl Froch.
A fight that ushered in a glorious era for British boxing, it would be the Nottingham man who would laugh loudest after securing a second win over Groves just months after controversially stopping him in Manchester.
Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury 2, 2024
Oleksandr Usyk needed a big push in the fight’s second half to become undisputed heavyweight champion when he first met Tyson Fury.
A stunning ninth round turned that bout in Usyk’s favour, but some believed Fury could make it 1-1 if he could avoid trouble in the rematch.
