Junior flyweight contenders Azael Villar and Jairo Noriega squared off in the main event of an All-Star Boxing card live from Casino Pharaohs in Managua, Nicaragua on Friday night.
Their bout went 12 close rounds of action in a back-and-forth affair. In the end, the judges awarded the fight to Noriega unanimously (117-111, 116-112 and 117-111). With the win, Noriega became the WBO Latino Champion.
There were no post-fight interviews with either fighter.
Villar is coming off two decision wins and drops his first fight since January 2023. Noriega extends his winning streak to 10 and cements himself as a fighter to keep an eye on in 2024.
