Barry Hearn advises Anthony Joshua what fight to take next and it's not Daniel Dubois

Who will Joshua face next?

Barry Hearn has urged Anthony Joshua to forget about a rematch with Daniel Dubois and focus on his rivalry with Tyson Fury.

Joshua’s next move is still unknown, but his name continues to be linked to several fights as he looks to rebuild following his shattering loss to Dubois in September.

Many in the boxing industry expected Joshua to become a three-time world champion against Dubois, but what occurred shocked the majority of those watching.

Joshua was dropped four times before being stopped in the fifth round, but he has the chance to level the series via a rematch option.

That looked to be the likely next step for Joshua who has always wanted to avenge his losses, but the sequel doesn't appear to be a formality.

On December 21, live on DAZN , Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will collide again after the latter defeated Fury to become undisputed heavyweight ruler earlier this year.

Hearn, a huge supporter of Joshua, believes the man promoted by his Matchroom company should see how Usyk vs. Fury plays out before plotting his next move.

"Personally, I think I'd swerve that. I think Dubois is dangerous and he's going to be super confident after the last job,” said Hearn when speaking on The Barry Hearn Show.

“I still believe AJ would probably beat him in a rematch if he boxed differently, but that's just my opinion. More likely, a sensible person doesn't rush anything.

"A Daniel Dubois rematch would be a big fight, but if Oleksandr Usyk beats Tyson Fury, and I think he's the favourite to beat Tyson Fury, possibly this time by stoppage - then the most sensible thing would be one or two fights with Tyson Fury."
