Barry Jones has a near-decade-long career as a professional in the sport, fighting more than a dozen-and-a-half bouts between 1992 and 2000, when he retired.

An unbeaten start over the first five years led to the WBO super-featherweight title, secured against Wilson Palacio, in 1997, only for him to vacate it after a brain scare.

Jones was offered a shot at subsequent holder Acelino Freitas in 2000, but suffered his only career loss there and subsequently retired with a 18-1 (1) record.

In his broadcast career Jones has often worked for the likes of the BBC and talkSport.
