The eagerly anticipated super fight between Errol Spence and Terence Crawford is almost here, and Barry McGuigan has had his say on the contest.
The unbeaten pair will collide for welterweight supremacy and it’s a fight that has the entire fight community split due to the talent and ability possessed by both outstanding fighters.
The meeting, which takes place in Las Vegas on July 29, will crown an undisputed ruler at 147lbs in a bout that has been simmering nicely since 2017.
McGuigan, a former world champion himself, is eager to see the fight and with the meeting just a few weeks away, he’s giving the edge to the man from Nebraska.
“I still make Crawford the slight favourite in the fight. It also depends on the preparation, and that could change my opinion,” said McGuigan when speaking with Seconds Out.
“It is fairly evenly balanced, but Crawford is a precision puncher. He doesn’t miss the target, he’s got a chin, he’s got that speed that comes up from lightweight and super lightweight.”
