Caroline Dubois is ready to step in the ring with current lightweight undisputed champion, Katie Taylor.
That’s the verdict of Ben Shalom, the promoter of Dubois who is currently guiding her path to the top.
An outstanding amateur, Dubois has made a decent impact in the pro game and the man designing her road to glory is aiming high.
Last month, Taylor surrendered her unbeaten record when she was beaten on points by the impressive Chantelle Cameron.
Taylor has the option to face Cameron in an immediate rematch and there’s also the possibility of taking on Amanda Serrano for a second time.
With big options available for Taylor, it’s unlikely she gets in the ring with Dubois at this stage, but Shalom has huge confidence in his fighter.
"For me Caroline Dubois is ready for Katie Taylor this year," said Shalom when speaking with Sky Sports.
"It would be a great passing of the torch to possibly get Caroline Dubois in with Katie Taylor before she retires. [Dubois] is a special talent and someone that turned over so young.
“You look at the other fighters and what they've achieved in their 30s, but this is someone at 22 years old that's showing frightening potential."
