Bob Arum believes that Dillian Whyte is a legitimate threat to Tyson Fury. A heavyweight contest between the pair is rumoured for spring following last week’s purse bid situation being resolved and it looks like Whyte finally has his world title shot.
Fury, who has spent the bulk of the last three years involved in a terrific rivalry with Deontay Wilder, is set to return to the U.K. for his first fight at home since 2018. Whyte, a long-time contender with the WBC, has chased a fight of this magnitude for a lengthy period and Arum believes the London fighter has multiple qualities.
"Whyte has a great chance because he's a big, big puncher," said Arum when speaking to IFLTV.
"He's a very rugged heavyweight, a very experienced heavyweight. If anything, he poses a bigger danger to Tyson than even Deontay Wilder did."
