Sam Goodman was one of the first people in the ring after Naoya Inoue’s destructive stoppage over Luis Nery.
The Australian star is a mandatory contender to Inoue’s world title, and it looks like a showdown between the pair could happen in September.
Inoue enhanced his credentials as one of the world’s best fighters by climbing off the floor to defeat Nery in Tokyo.
The Japanese star showed a brief moment of weakness by being dropped heavily by Nery, and Goodman believes he has more than enough to inflict the first loss on Inoue.
“I have seen enough in that fight to do what I need to do to win that fight,” said Goodman when speaking to No Limit Boxing’s X account.
“It will be a massive opportunity for me because I want to fight for world titles. [Inoue] has them all, so I have to fight him.
“I’ve got to box my best, but if I do it, then I believe I can beat this man.”
