British heavyweight star confirms he's received WWE opportunity and it's not Tyson FuryDAZN
Is boxing about to lose a big name to wrestling?

There was a big expectation that Delicious Orie would be turning professional inside the boxing ring following his Olympic run earlier this year.

Orie, seen as one of British boxing’s best hopes, has enjoyed considerable success in the unpaid code, but could he be considering a career change.

Shortly after the Olympics, Orie was approached by WWE and he’s recently spent time at the wrestling company’s performance centre which is located in Florida.

Standing 6ft 6ins, Orie possesses the athletic qualities usually required by WWE’s talent spotters, but how did the opportunity come about?

"I actually got a message on Instagram during the Olympics," said Orie when speaking to Sky Sports

"Initially I just thought it was one of those messages, I thought it was just a scam. Why would the real thing message you?"

Orie attended the week-long camp and was put through his paces as he had to demonstrate whether he had the necessary talent to excel as a WWE performer.

Anthony Ogogo, a boxing Olympian from 2012, is currently under contract in AEW and Tyson Fury has made regular appearances for WWE, so there is already a connection between wrestling and boxing.

Orie has received multiple offers regarding his next move, whether it’s boxing or wrestling, and now he has to decide what comes next in his life.

"I am now at the stage where I have spoken with all the [boxing] promoters, I got to experience the WWE life and lifestyle, and I am open to every single one of them [offers].

“I'm in the process of getting all the offers on the table. Weigh up the pros and cons of each and then I'll make my decision."
