John Ryder is aiming to bounce back from his loss against Canelo Alvarez by taking on the Mexican star’s greatest rival.
It’s unconfirmed what Gennadiy Golovkin will do next after almost a year out of the ring, but if he does choose to fight on, Ryder is eager to test himself against the modern great and is even willing to travel to Kazakhstan to make it happen.
Last September, Golovkin was outpointed by Canelo as their terrific feud that dates back to 2017 was finally brought to an end.
Golovkin has been quiet on his next move, but could we be about to see a fight between Canelo’s two most recent victims?
“I’d love to fight Golovkin,” said Ryder when speaking to Mirror Fighting. “I know he’s saying about another fight back in Kazakhstan and I’ve love to be in the opposite corner.
“I don’t mind going into enemy territory. Why not? A little world tour to finish off my professional career. We’ll go to Kazakhstan for Golovkin and maybe to America for [Caleb] Plant or Mexico for [Jaime] Munguia.”
