Angel Fernandez is fully aware of the power possessed by Anthony Joshua, but he’s claiming that another fighter hits harder.
Fernandez was once a part of Joshua’s training team, but he’s no longer with the former two-time world champion as he gets ready to face Francis Ngannou with Ben Davison in his corner.
Joshua has the opportunity to get closer towards a world title shot when he tackles the former UFC superstar and Fernandez has spoken about his former charge.
Despite Joshua moving on to a different coach, Fernandez has also pushed on with his own career and he’s identified Richard Riakporhe as a boxer who has bigger punching power than Joshua.
"Richard Riakporhe by a country mile,” said Fernandez when discussing who’s the hardest puncher he’s taken on the pads with Talksport.
"For example, we had some training with the water bag. It was one guy behind, he whacked it and the guy left.
"I went behind the bag, and I had to have a rugby pad behind the bag so that I didn’t feel it as much. It was incredible, and I think Richard is the hardest puncher I have ever trained."
