Lawrence Okolie became world champion in a second weight class earlier this year when he stopped Lukasz Rozanski in one round to become bridgerweight champion.
The London star is now eager to pursue bigger fights and one possible contest that interests him is a showdown with Deontay Wilder.
Wilder’s incredible run at heavyweight appears to be over following consecutive losses to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.
No official decision on Wilder’s next move has been made, but Okolie is ready to take on the former WBC ruler.
I think it would be a great fight and he’ll always have what leaves people late and that’s his punching power and the name – Deontay Wilder,” said Okolie when speaking to Betway.
“If I’m boxing Wilder, no matter what I say, I’m going to be a little bit apprehensive and think, ‘okay let’s see what his power is like’. I think it’s a great fight.”
