IBF title holder Caleb Plant has recruited Andre Ward and Virgil Hunter for help as he prepared for his fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez this Saturday.
The American and Mexican champions will also contest Alvarez’s WBA, WBC and WBO titles with one almost certain to emerge as the first-ever four-belt undisputed super middleweight fighter.
Alvarez is considered the heavy favourite and is reportedly already considering his next step, perhaps up to light heavyweight, in anticipation of completing his mission at 168lbs this weekend.
TalkSPORT reported that Plant has posted images of his time with Hunter and Ward, with Ward a former super middleweight unified champion, and also a title holder at 175lbs.
He retired undefeated in 2017 and may have some tips to pass onto his compatriot.
