Eddie Hearn was still in a festive mood on a recent episode of The DAZN Boxing Show as he identified several fights he’d like to provide as gifts in 2022. After completing a hectic year with over 40 shows under his Matchroom banner, Hearn is focusing on next year as he aims to deliver more big fights.
With his thriving stable expanding on a regular basis, Hearn is consistently occupied on providing his fighters with the challenges they need. Speaking on The DAZN Boxing Show, the Brit based promoter picked out several fights that he would like to finalise in 2022.
“George Kambosos vs. Devin Haney in April or May in Australia,” said Hearn when revealing his first present. “Deontay Wilder gained so much from his loss against Tyson Fury. We want him to see him back in the ring and Derek Chisora is the perfect comeback opponent for him in June 2022.
“The great P4P King, Canelo Alvarez. I know there’s talk about Junior Makabu and David Benavidez, but I’d like to provide the route to the undisputed championship at 175lbs. Dmitriy Bivol, Joe Smith, Artur Beterbiev, there's the run all done in a year. History making and Canelo breaks records all over again.”
