There is still a clamour for a Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin trilogy fight.

Following the conclusion of an epic trilogy between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder last weekend, boxing fans have begun to wonder whether there will ever be a trilogy fight between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin.

The first fight between these two pound-for-pound legends ended in a controversial draw in 2017 before Canelo edged the second fight on points a year later.

However, since then the two men have gone down separate paths. Canelo has been winning world titles in multiple weight divisions, while Golovkin still competes at middleweight where he holds the IBF belt and is expected to face WBA champion Ryota Murata in a trilogy fight later this year.

Speaking to ESPN Deportes, Canelo claimed he has accomplished a lot more in the world of boxing than his middleweight rival since they last fought in 2018.

"I am ready for everything," Canelo said.

"I am ready for everything, I am ready to make the best fights. You [journalists] hang on to that [the trilogy fight]. I'm doing more important things than him. Where is he? What has he done since he fought me? Nothing."
