Berlanga irked the face of boxing into this.

There was a moment during Tuesday's Canelo Alvarez-Edgar Berlanga press conference in Los Angeles when Berlanga called out Caleb Plant who was sitting amongst the media.

That's when Alvarez interjected.

"Caleb, take it easy, I'm going to take care of him for you," Alvarez said to his former opponent about Berlanga. "I promise you. That's for you, buddy. You think he has more IQ than you?

"You don't have a better IQ than me," he continued now speaking with Berlanga directly. "You think you have more IQ than Floyd Mayweather? Miguel Cotto? Than [Erislandy] Lara? Come on, bro!

"You're nothing," he tacked on. "Take it easy and wait because your turn is coming."

Upon Berlanga repeatedly telling him "you're gonna see," Alvarez was irked enough to make a bold prediction for their September 14 fight, live on DAZN .

"I'm gonna let you [have] eight rounds," Alvarez vowed. "Just eight rounds. You're going to feel pain eight rounds. From there, you're finished. Mark my words."

Their heated exchanges continued after the press conference when Alvarez told Berlanga: "You think I'm scared of you? I've beat many like you. You're nothing."
