Canelo Alvarez vs. Jermell Charlo: 154-pound champ details how his unique skills could give Canelo problemsDAZN

Just over a month away from Jermell Charlo moving up two divisions to challenge for Canelo Alvarez's undisputed super middleweight championship September 30, "Iron Man" believes his unique blend of skills make him a 1-of-1 in boxing today.

"I definitely know for a fact that I don't think nobody else in boxing has like what I possess in the ring especially at my weight," Charlo began telling former NBA champion Stephen Jackson for a Showtime segment.

"I'm a much larger fighter than people think, my arms are much faster and longer, I pack a different punch but my lateral movement is ridiculous."

He added: "I can't sing, but I can dance. So I'm an artist in the ring like I would draw a picture real quick and just starting graphing it together. Then, by the time it's the end of the picture, we flip it over — that's what you get.

"I guess that comes from the strength — that's that willpower that I got."

Later in the segment, Charlo conceded that he hasn't gone into a fight in the last 10 years where he's been 100 percent, leaning into his battle-tested mettle that much more.

Charlo fractured his left hand while sparring in December and hasn't fought since delivering a 10th-round knockout of Brian Castaño in May 2022.

Whether his skills and rugged mental approach help him to get past Alvarez remains to be seen.
