Canelo Alvarez will be 'looking for the knockout' against Gennadiy Golovkin claims Marco Antonio BarreraDAZN
The Mexican boxing legend previewed the much-anticipated trilogy fight on The DAZN Boxing Show.

There may be just under four months to go until the long awaited trilogy fight between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin, but the boxing world is already buzzing with excitement ahead of September 17.

None more so than former mulit-weight world champion Marco Antonio Barrera, who spoke to The DAZN Boxing Show about the contest.

When asked about the importance of this third fight, Barrera believes after two very close results in 2017 and 2018, this will bring some closure to what has been a heated rivalry.

"There was a lot of entertainment, they were two very close fights that brought out the best in Canelo and the best in GGG," Barrera said.

"Many people were left wondering who won the first and then the second.

"In this third fight, there will be no strategy, there will be no doubt who will win the fight.

"Canelo Alvarez will be looking for the knockout from start to finish to be able to convince and close this trilogy."

At the age of 40, some fans are concerned this fight has come a little too late for Golovkin, however Barrera was positive about GGG's recent win against Ryota Murata and thinks there are ways the Kazakh can beat one of the world's best pound-for-pound fighters.

"All fights are risky, but in this case, I think Golovkin needs to come through well.

"He looked good with Ryota Murata, he didn’t show his age.

"Everyone had that doubt, but he looked super good. He caught him with a left hook and Murata went to the mat.

"On this occasion he knows that Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is a boxer with a lot of mobility, a lot of body shots, a lot of counter-punching.

"He has to look for a way to block his pathway or he’s going to walk down Saul.

"Saul I think is going to be on top of him looking for the knockout no matter what."
