With 2021 slowly coming to a close, it's time to start looking ahead to 2022 and what that could mean for the sport of boxing.
On a special 2021 review episode of The DAZN Boxing Show, Chris Mannix, Ak and Barak, and Sergio Mora gave their predictions for what will be the biggest boxing story of 2022.
Chris Mannix: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez will move up to heavyweight
"Canelo will move up to heavyweight, he will challenge Oleksandr Usyk and he will beat Oleksandr Usyk.
"I think Canelo has the skills to get it done. It will be a massive challenge, the biggest challenge in Canelo Alvarez’s caree, but that is my prediction."
Ak: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua will happen in 2022
"I do see Tyson Fury eventually fighting Anthony Joshua somewhere in the UK in front of the biggest audience they’ve ever seen.
"I do think Joshua will beat Usyk in the rematch next year and Fury vs. Joshua happens."
Barak: Errol Spence Jr. will fight Keith Thurman
"I think the biggest headline is going to be Errol Spence fighting Keith Thurman.
"And that’s going to be the biggest headline because it’s another fight where Terence Crawford has to wait for the winner of that so we can see an undisputed in the welterweight division."
Sergio Mora: Canelo finally loses
"The biggest headline for me will be Canelo finally biting off more than he can chew and being beaten by a bigger man.
"It might be Usyk, and finally we’re going to see him stumble and that’s when people are going to be happy when he faces a heavyweight or a cruiserweight."
