Carl Froch is backing Kell Brook to defeat Amir Khan in Saturday’s grudge match. ‘The Cobra’ who was involved in his own domestic rivalry when facing George Groves twice in 2013 and the following year, is fully aware of the pressure that both men are currently enduring.
Brook, who has dreamed of this fight since turning professional, starts a narrow favourite this weekend as he looks to prove once and for all that he is a better fighter than Khan. The Bolton fighter has disregarded Brook’s challenge for many years as he sought bigger opportunities in America, but with the fight now official, Froch is backing the Sheffield man.
“I'll be honest, I want Kell Brook to win,” said Froch when speaking to Sky Sports.
“I’m making Brook the favourite because he can punch. He’s got a nice, powerful, tasty punch, especially at this weight. I favour that punching power over the speed of Amir Khan because I don’t think he can sustain that for 12 rounds.”
