Carl Froch’s lengthy career was full of memorable bouts against world level fighters such as Andre Ward, Jean Pascal, and George Groves.
In an incredible run that saw him win multiple world titles, Froch has labelled Mikkel Kessler as the best overall fighter he stepped in the ring with after going up against the Danish boxer twice.
In 2010, Kessler inflicted Froch’s maiden professional defeat when he emerged victorious in Denmark during the Super Six tournament.
Three years later, Froch would claim revenge when he outpointed Kessler in a classic battle before heading into his brutal series against Groves. Froch has high praise for Kessler.
“He’s the best all-rounder. He can box, punch, fight up close, and his jab is excellent,” said Froch when discussing Kessler with The Ring in 2014.
“The reason his jab is so effective is because he’s left-handed but fights orthodox. Kessler has good defence, but he’ll stand there and have a fight with you. He is one very tough man and took great shots from me in both our fights.”
