Carl Froch has always been a fighter full of confidence and such belief carried him to a successful career.
In a thrilling run as a leading super-middleweight, Froch fought some of boxing’s biggest names and now he fancies himself in a fight against one of the world’s best heavyweights.
Oleksandr Usyk currently holds three of the four recognised world titles and he’s defeated huge names such as Anthony Joshua and Derek Chisora.
Despite such achievements, that hasn’t prevented Froch from believing he could beat the magical Ukrainian in a street fight.
“I stand next to Oleksandr Usyk and he's about 6ft 2ins/6ft 3ins. I look at him and I think, 'Yeah, I fancy my chances.’ Not in a boxing ring, in a street fight,” said Froch when speaking to Talksport in 2023.
"He'd probably hammer me. But what I'm saying is - when I size somebody up, I think to myself, 'Yeah, I can have a go here, get hold of him, have a roll around on the cobbles for example.'
"But you look at someone like Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua, I just think, 'Nah, I'm alright to be honest.'”
