Former world super middleweight champion Carl Froch believes one of his past opponents is someone who can never be beaten.
During his 12 years as a professional boxer, Froch has been a part of some memorable encounters against the likes of Mikkel Kessler and domestic rival George Groves.
Froch was also fortunate to share the ring with boxing great Andre Ward in the final of the Super Six World Boxing Classic in 2011, but the Nottingham man was unable to beat Ward after losing via unanimous decision.
Reflecting on the contest in an appearance for In The Zone, Froch spoke about what went wrong in his clash with the American.
“Andre Ward, fantastic talent, doesn’t know how to lose, just wins. High school wrestling champion so strong and tricky up close. Fast hands Olympic gold medalist, fast hands," Froch said.
“I couldn’t really hit him, he’s too fast, he was holding. I felt like I’d been pickpocketed. Usually, my hands are swollen, ribs are sore, but I got out of the ring and I thought I could go again. I was fuming, because I was no longer a champion.
“Nobody can beat [Andre Ward].”
